Read the Utah Driver Handbook cover to cover. The test has 50 questions for first-time applicants. You must answer 40 right to pass. That is 80%. Plan for 30 to 45 minutes. Take the free DLD practice test online. You can test twice in one day if you fail the first time.
Retake policy
If you fail the knowledge test, you have 3 attempts within 6 months on one fee. You can retake twice in one day. After 3 fails, you must pay a second fee for 3 more attempts within 6 months. Permit and test scores are valid for 18 months.
